Investment management firm with headquarters in Boston seeks ambitious, technically focused college grads or recent alums for a Junior Developer position. The firm’s IT group develops and maintains applications to support Investment Accounting and Operations functions. The Associate will be responsible for developing, acquiring, integrating, testing and maintaining client-server applications, as well as integration of those applications with Front, Middle, and other Back Office systems.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, acquire, integrate, test, maintain and support software
2. Provide ongoing support to internal customers of new and existing applications
3. Assist internal customers to resolve unexpected issues that may affect the day-to-day operations
4. Communicate with outside service vendors/providers to resolve processing issues
5. Work independently and with development team to meet department objectives
6. Write technical and user documentation to support new and existing applications
7. Manage responsibilities pertaining to business continuity preparedness, documentation, Disaster Recovery site visits, etc.
8. Participate in other significant/strategic projects as required

Qualifications:

1. BS in CS or Engineering (or related field) required
2. Significant college course level programming experience in Java (must have projects to show)
3. SQL database programming and design experience desired
4. Knowledge of C# & .NET is also a plus
5. Knowledge of the object-oriented design concepts and Design patterns required
6. Experience with Unix and Windows platforms including writing shell and command scripts
7. Good analytical skills
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
